Hi, my name is Gerald and by day I’m a Cyber Security analyst. That doesn’t say much though, as I work vary narrowly with a single product (Trellix Endpoint Security) And despite having worked with it exclusively over the past decade, it seems like I’m always finding out something new or I didn’t know about. I’ve kind of hit a point where I’m burned out and am looking to reignite the drive that lead me to this point in my career. I hope to use this site a wall of sorts, where I’ll be throwing thing at and seeing what sticks. Yeah, I could probably just do this on a word doc or something locally but where’s the fun in that?

I’m also hoping this blog will serve as a running log of where I’ve gone on this journey. I hope to come back to my early posts years later and be able to marvel at how I got to where I am. I know when I try to think about my journey thus far, I wish I had documented what I did and didn’t do. I’m sure there’s something I had thought about that I no longer remember about but may find it something of interest today. Or maybe I have an idea that I had worked through before and decided against it. It would be nice to read back why I didn’t go with it.

And of course, I hope that someone will follow along and join me on this journey. I’m not trying to build a massive following of casual followers. I hope to find a few kindred spirits that will be valuable and precious contributors; people who are also on their own journeys who may draw inspiration from me and in kind I draw inspiration from them.
